"Riding is such a relieving experience for me. It allows me to clear my head while also challenging me physically and mentally. There have been plenty of times where I've just started riding, with no destination in mind, as a method of self-care. There are also times when I psych myself out like "There's no way I can make it up this hill", but when I actually do make it to the top, it's very rewarding knowing I accomplished what I thought I couldn't. After a certain age, riding a bike as a mode of transportation is clowned on, but I could care less because I'm helping the environment, getting exercise, and challenging the notion that riding a bike isn't "cool". I rarely see Black women who ride in my community, so I hope to inspire those who look like me to get out there and hop on a bike!"
